Visiting the Pyramids
4 QuestionsThe Giza Pyramids complex is open to visitors every day of the year, including weekends and public holidays. Standard hours are:
- Summer (April – September): 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Winter (October – March): 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- During Ramadan: hours may shift slightly — we'll inform you in advance
We strongly recommend arriving at opening time to enjoy cooler temperatures and fewer crowds. Our guides will time your visit perfectly.
Current entrance fees for the Giza Plateau are:
- General admission (foreigners): EGP 200 per person
- Interior of the Great Pyramid: EGP 400 additional
- Interior of Khafre's Pyramid: EGP 100 additional
- Solar Boat Museum: EGP 100 additional
- Students (with valid ID): 50% discount on most tickets
All entrance fees are included in our tour packages — no hidden costs. Fees are subject to change by Egyptian authorities; we always confirm current rates before your visit.
Yes! Entering the Great Pyramid is a remarkable experience. You climb through a narrow ascending passage to reach the King's Chamber, where Khufu's granite sarcophagus rests.
Important considerations:
- The passages are low and narrow — not suitable for people with severe claustrophobia or mobility issues
- Only a limited number of tickets are sold each day (rotated between pyramids)
- No cameras or photography allowed inside
- Temperature inside stays around 25°C year-round
Our guides will help you secure interior tickets in advance so you don't miss out. Ask us about pyramid interior access when booking.
Dressing appropriately ensures both comfort and cultural respect. Our recommendations:
- Footwear: Comfortable, closed-toe shoes with good grip — you'll walk on sand and uneven stones
- Clothing: Light, breathable fabrics; long sleeves and trousers are advised to protect against sun and sand
- Sun protection: A wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (SPF 50+) are essential
- Scarf or shawl: Useful if you plan to visit any religious sites or mosques on the same day
- Avoid: High heels, sandals, or very revealing clothing
We provide a detailed packing list to every booked guest before departure.

Private tours are our most popular offering and we highly recommend them for families, couples, and groups of any size.

- Customisable itinerary to include specific sites or activities

- Great for families with children, elderly travellers, or those with specific interests
Group tours (joining other travellers) are also available at reduced rates. Book Your Trip and tell us your preference.
The Sound and Light Show at Giza is a spectacular evening experience and one of Egypt's most iconic attractions. The Sphinx narrates the story of ancient Egypt as the Pyramids are dramatically illuminated.
- Duration: Approximately 1 hour
- Languages: Shows run in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, and Japanese on different evenings
- Best seats: We secure front-section seating for our guests

We recommend combining a daytime pyramid tour with an evening Sound & Light Show for the complete Giza experience. Ask us to include it in your package.
Practical Travel Tips
3 QuestionsEgypt's climate varies significantly throughout the year. Our recommendations:
- October – April (Best season): Cooler temperatures (15–25°C), ideal for outdoor exploration. December and January see the most visitors, but the weather is very pleasant.
- May – September (Summer): Temperatures can exceed 40°C — tours start at sunrise and are kept shorter. Not recommended for children or elderly travellers without extra precautions.
- Spring (March – May): Warm and beautiful, though sandstorms (khamsin) occasionally affect visibility in March.
For most travellers, October to February offers the most comfortable experience. We operate year-round and adapt all tours to seasonal conditions.
Most international visitors require a visa to enter Egypt. The good news is it's straightforward:
- e-Visa (recommended): Apply online at visa2egypt.gov.eg before travel. Processing takes 3–7 business days. Cost: approximately USD 25.
- Visa on Arrival: Available at Cairo, Alexandria, and other major airports for citizens of many countries. Cost: USD 25 paid in foreign currency.
- Visa-free entry: Citizens of some countries (including Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, and others) may enter without a visa — check with your embassy.
We recommend obtaining your e-Visa before travelling to avoid queues. Our team is happy to advise on the process when you contact us.
Cairo and Giza are welcoming, tourist-friendly destinations visited by millions of travellers every year. The Giza Plateau is heavily patrolled by tourism police and is considered very safe for visitors.
Tips for a comfortable visit:
- Use reputable, licensed tour operators (like us!) rather than unsolicited street offers
- Keep a copy of your passport and travel documents separately
- Agree on prices before accepting any camel rides or photography services not included in your tour
- Stay hydrated and carry cash in smaller denominations for tips (tipping culture is important here)
- Always check your government's latest travel advisory before departing
With our experienced local guides, you'll always have an expert by your side. We monitor conditions and prioritise your safety throughout every tour.
